The Alternative Path to becoming a Nurse Coach
Earn Your Nurse Coach Certification Without Attending a Formal Nurse Coach Program!
Many nurses believe attending a dedicated Nurse Coach School is the only path to certification, but that's not the case! If you're a busy professional, there's an alternative to earning your Nurse Coach certification from the American Holistic Nurses Credentialing Corporation (AHNCC). You can achieve this independently, without enrolling in a formal program. Link to policy
CoachRN is an approved Nurse Coach Supervisor, recognized by the AHNCC. One of the key requirements for AHNCC Nurse Coach certification is to complete 60 hours of coaching experience under the mentorship and/or supervision of a Nurse Coach Supervisor. Additionally, candidates must obtain a Validation Letter from a Nurse Coach. CoachRN provides expert supervision and guidance to help you meet these certification requirements with confidence.
Here's What You Need to Do:
Continuing Nursing Education (CNEs)
You'll need to complete on your own a minimum of 60 CNEs accrued over the past three years. These CNEs must include content consistent with the Nurse Coach Core Values and Nurse Coach Competencies.
Supervision
A crucial component is completing 60 hours of coaching experience. This experience must be obtained under the mentorship or supervision of an AHNCC-approved Nurse Coach Supervisor.
